NSW Law Week: 16-22 May 2010

Arrive alive is a long standing major sponsor of NSW Law Week.

Law Week is an annual event that aims to promote greater understanding within the community of the law, the legal system and the legal profession. The objectives of Law Week are to:

  • stimulate public understanding of the law and its role in society
  • provide legal service providers throughout NSW with an occasion to participate in leadership and advocacy programs that educate the public about the Law by serving schools and communities.

The major event for Law Week 2010 was the Arrive alive High School Road Safety Debates where students debated on a proposed amendment to the Road Transport (Driver licensing) Regulations 1999 to reduce the injuries to passengers of young drivers by restricting both P1 and P2 licence holders to a maximum of one passenger in the vehicle at any time.

Sydney Metro debating finals were held at Martin Place, Sydney at 12.30pm on 17 May, 2010 with the the affirmative winning through after a close debating battle.
